Fair Compensation & Equitable Pay
Advocating for transparent accounting practices, fair royalty structures, and compensation models that allow artists to earn sustainable incomes from their work.
Artist Justice
In Seattle, we have witnessed firsthand the devastating toll that addiction, mental illness, and a lack of meaningful support can take on creative lives. Too many gifted artists have struggled in silence, been exploited by an unforgiving industry, or been lost before they had the opportunity to realize their full potential. These are not personal failures — they are systemic ones.
Artist Justice
Advocating for transparent accounting practices, fair royalty structures, and compensation models that allow artists to earn sustainable incomes from their work.
Supporting reforms that improve the collection, reporting, and distribution of royalties so artists receive the compensation they have earned.
Addressing the impact of opaque algorithms and digital gatekeeping practices that unfairly influence visibility, opportunity, and income.
Promoting equal opportunity and opposing discriminatory practices that prevent artists from participating fully in the creative economy.
Advocating against predatory practices within the entertainment industry, including coercion, financial manipulation, abuse of power, and environments that normalize exploitation.
Challenging industry cultures that encourage addiction, enable destructive behavior, or prioritize profit over human wellbeing.
Supporting stronger accountability standards for labels, managers, promoters, distributors, and industry professionals.
Encouraging greater transparency and fairness in ticket pricing practices and opposing exploitative fees that harm both artists and fans.
Protecting the right of artists to maintain creative control, ownership interests, and direct relationships with their audiences.
Working with policymakers, community leaders, and industry stakeholders to promote reforms that strengthen the creative workforce and protect vulnerable artists.
Artist Justice
No artist should ever have to choose between their well-being and their calling — and yet too many have been forced to make exactly that choice.
Advocacy is how we change that.
We name the systems that push artists toward addiction, mental health crises, and exploitation — and we work to dismantle them.
Because replacing eulogies with encores requires changing more than individual outcomes.
It requires changing the structures that make those outcomes inevitable.
